Security Test Questions

I’ve been logging into Elance a bit lately. I have one account for posting jobs and one account for trying to get jobs.

Every time I log into either account, it asks me one of my security questions. What street did I grow up on! What elementary school did I go to! First pet! School mascot!

My BANK doesn’t ask me that many security questions. In fact, I am not sure I have EVER been asked a security question by my bank. My old bank’s online system used to do another authentication any time my IP address changed. But my IP address is not changing much right now. I’m sure of it!

This makes logging into Elance slower than it needs to be. There is nothing so sacred in Elance that it needs that much two-factor authentication. Google has all kinds of credit cards on file for me, and I’ve only recently turned on their double authentication. What gives, Elance?
